On 1979 agronomist and business man, Renato Peñafiel Olivares, arrived to El Cienago searching the perfect land to grow Pisco grapes. Years after, he became one of the biggest Pisco grape producer on the valley and Chile.

 

By 1992 second family generation lead by the engineer Jose Tomas Peñafiel Muñoz joined the Company to develop new proyects and consolidate the business. On 1999 the first traditional Table Grapes varieties fields were planted and Citrus arrived to the farm.

 

On 2017 José Tomas Peñafiel Prohens, engineer, third generation family member began growing new varieties of Table Grapes, continued expanding our Citrus business and develop innovative managment.

 

Today El Cienago is a family-owned and operated grower, packer and exporter of Table Grapes and Citrus. Committed with our people, environment friendly, growing quality fruit… we continue our family legacy.
